SRG Wins Syngenta Temp Recruitment Contract

Company News Release

SRG, the UK’s leading scientific and technical recruitment company, announced today that it has successfully implemented a UK-wide temporary staff RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourcing) solution on behalf of Syngenta in the UK. Syngenta is a world-leading plant science company with 5 large UK sites and around 1,600 permanent UK employees. Temporary staff are used proactively to cope with seasonal fluctuations, to cover maternity and holiday leave, and to provide an ongoing additional resource pool for Syngenta’s research, development and manufacturing activities.

Nick Cansfield, Head of UK HR Operations, from Syngenta said; “We selected SRG because they looked to be a great fit for our needs. Firstly they have a clear focus on science and engineering with the ability to provide additional staff categories through their sister companies in the Impellum Group. Secondly their locations across the UK allow them to provide local support, developing effective relationships with local HR and function managers at each of our UK Sites. Thirdly, they could demonstrate a track record of operating managed recruitment projects that work, and deliver results for their clients.

A competitive tender process was completed by Syngenta in the first quarter of 2009. Since March, SRG has successfully provided all new temporary staff needs for Syngenta, some 40 placements in total. On June 1st , SRG completed the successful transfer of over 80 existing temporary staff from the incumbent supplier under TUPE rules. The contract covers all temporary staff disciplines, not just scientific, engineering and technical staff. SRG will deliver additional categories through its sister companies in the Impellam Group including Blue Arrow, Hewitson Walker, Chadwick Nott and Tate. SRG’s e-Volution has also been successfully implemented, giving Syngenta the benefit of a comprehensive recruitment solution for HR, function managers and temporary staff.

Dani Cassar, National Sales Director, from SRG said; “The Syngenta contract win is another important milestone for SRG in 2009 and is an excellent example to add to our portfolio of RPO services to science based companies. This win demonstrates our proven strength in running scientific & technical workforce models, and also, through our sister companies within the Impellam Group, how we can deliver skills in every discipline. Furthermore, our new service offering in collaboration with our sister company, Carlisle Managed Solutions, will further strengthen this offering and give UK organisations with a strong scientific and/or technical focus an ideal solution for their RPO needs.”
